To teach students about the different terms and concepts associated with the weather, they worked in pairs for ten days to collect data concerning the weather of the city they chose. As they were collecting the information on their individual city, they also prepared a news-like weather forecast using the information I gave them about fronts, temperature, and weather events. Students had to present their city weather information to the class by using circle, line, frequency, and bar graphs. They also gave a 2-3 minute weather report using the information I provided, and magnets representing the symbols weathermen use on TV. Students had to know where given cities where, the correct direction to place fronts, etc.
