Along with using the basic functions provided on the SMART Board, students also worked with the interactive response system that corresponds with the SMART Board. In this particular activity we were reviewing our writing "tools" stick, and the expectations of a good sentence. I wrote on the board a sentence, and as we went through the writing "tools" stick (rubric) the students would vote to tell me if my sentence met the particular expectations we were looking for. This gave me immediate, informal assessment feedback as to what the class understood and/or mastered, and who needed more assistance, and in what areas.
